RRB Isolated Categories (CEN 09/2026): about 195 posts, applications from 5 November

RRB has put out a short notice for CEN 09/2026, the Isolated Categories recruitment. There are about 195 posts across all RRBs, and the online application is expected to open on 5 November 2026 and close on 4 December 2026 at 11:59 pm. Both dates are marked tentative.

The notice is dated 24 October 2026 and came out in Employment News, so there's no PDF to link here yet. We'll add the detailed CEN once RRB uploads it.

This is only the indicative notice, so it's thin on detail. It says the posts are at Level 2 and Level 7 of the 7th CPC, and that age will be counted on 1 January 2027. It doesn't name the posts, and it doesn't give the age limits, qualifications or medical standards. All of that will come in the detailed CEN on the RRB website.

Sort out your Aadhaar now

This is the one thing you can do before the detailed notice comes out. RRB wants you to verify your details with Aadhaar while filling the form. If you don't, your application will go through detailed checks at every stage, which can mean delays.

For the verification to work, your name and date of birth in Aadhaar have to match your 10th certificate 100%. If your Aadhaar has a short form of your name, a different spelling or a wrong date, get it corrected. RRB also says to update your Aadhaar photo and biometrics (fingerprint and iris) before you apply.

An Aadhaar update doesn't happen the same day, so if yours needs fixing, start now rather than when the form opens.

What to do next

Wait for the detailed CEN before you decide anything. With only 195 posts spread across all RRBs and very different pay levels, the posts that suit you will depend on your qualification, and that will only be clear once the full list is out. Keep your certificates ready in the meantime.

Check only the official RRB website for the detailed notice, and ignore anyone who offers to get you a railway job for money.
