RRB JE (CEN 04/2026): 458 JE P. Way and Signal posts added, total now 4,487

04 Nov 2026, 10:00 AM 4 min read

In short

Corrigendum No. 2 adds 423 JE P. Way and 35 JE Signal posts at 14 RRBs, so CEN 04/2026 now has 4,487 vacancies. Applications aren't reopened, so this only helps people who already applied there for these posts.

RRB released Corrigendum No. 2 for CEN 04/2026 (JE and DMS) on 4 November 2026, and it's good news if you've applied for JE P. Way or JE Signal. Zonal Railways asked for more staff in these two posts, so RRB has added 458 vacancies. The total for the CEN now stands at 4,487, up from 4,029. The PDF is linked below.

Most of the new posts are in P. Way (Category 17), which gets 423 more. JE / S&T / Signal (Category 35) gets 35. Nothing else in the notification has changed.

P. Way: from 237 to 660 posts

The corrigendum only prints the new numbers. Going by the original vacancy table, this is what each RRB had and what it has now:

  • Bhopal (WCR): 10, now 100
  • Bhubaneswar (ECoR): 50, now 150
  • Bilaspur (SECR): 20, now 100
  • Patna (ECR): 21, now 75
  • Ajmer (NWR): 50, now 80
  • Kolkata (SER): 10, now 40
  • Muzaffarpur (ECR): 9, now 38
  • Ranchi (SER): 67, now 77

Bhopal had just 10 P. Way posts in August. It now has 100. Bhubaneswar, at 150, has the most P. Way posts of any RRB in this CEN, while Ranchi gets the smallest increase, only 10.

Ex-servicemen posts in these rows go up from 25 to 66. The posts for candidates with locomotor disability at Bhubaneswar, Patna and Ranchi go up from 6 to 13 in total.

Signal: from 113 to 148 posts

  • Guwahati (NFR): 21, now 27
  • Prayagraj (NCR): 15, now 20
  • Siliguri (NFR): 15, now 20
  • Ahmedabad (WR): 13, now 17
  • Bilaspur (SECR): 12, now 16
  • Chennai (SR): 13, now 17
  • Ranchi (SER): 13, now 17
  • Mumbai (WR): 11, now 14

The increases here are small, three to six posts per RRB. Bilaspur and Ranchi are the only two that got extra posts in both P. Way and Signal. Ex-servicemen posts go up from 13 to 16.

Can you still apply?

No. Applications closed on 13 September, and your chosen RRB could never be changed, not even during the modification window. So the extra posts only matter if you've already applied through one of these RRBs and picked JE P. Way or JE Signal in your post preferences. If you didn't pick the post, the CEN treats that as you not wanting it.

If you did, check the numbers for your own category, not just the total. At Bhopal, P. Way OBC posts went from 2 to 26 and SC from 2 to 16. At Patna, SC posts went from 6 to 14.

This should help at the CBT stage too. The CEN says each RRB will call 15 times its category-wise vacancies to the second CBT, so more posts at your RRB should mean more people get through from the first one. The corrigendum doesn't say this itself. It follows from the rules in the CEN.

Get your eyes checked first

Both posts need medical standard A-3, the toughest one in this CEN. You need 6/9 vision in each eye, glasses no stronger than 2D, and you have to clear colour, binocular, night and mesopic vision tests. If you've had LASIK or any other surgery to correct your eyesight, you can't get an A-3 post. And if you fail the medical, you won't be given a different post. If you're not sure your eyes are good enough, get them tested now, not after you've cleared the CBT.

In case you noticed: the original notification said 3,993 posts, but this corrigendum starts from 4,029. That difference comes from an earlier revision that this notice doesn't explain. It didn't change P. Way or Signal, because the old and new numbers here add up exactly.

All other terms of CEN 04/2026 stay the same. Keep an eye on your RRB's official website for any more changes, and don't trust vacancy figures from forwarded screenshots.
