In short
CEN 06/2026 has 3,548 NTPC Graduate posts, 2,750 of them for Goods Train Manager, for graduates aged 18 to 33. Applications close on 6 November 2026, and there is no typing test this time.
If you're a graduate between 18 and 33 and you haven't applied for this yet, do it now. RRB's NTPC Graduate notification, CEN 06/2026, closes on 6 November 2026 at 11:59 pm. There are 3,548 posts across all 21 RRBs. Fill the form today rather than on the last night, because the site gets slow when everyone logs in at once.
Most of these posts are for one job. Goods Train Manager has 2,750 of the 3,548, at Level 5 with a starting pay of ₹29,200. The other three are Senior Clerk cum Typist with 371 posts and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist with 300, both also Level 5 at ₹29,200, and Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor with 127. That one is the only Level 6 post, starting at ₹35,400.
Any degree from a recognised university works, but you must already have it. If you're still waiting for your final-year result, you can't apply. The age is counted on 1 January 2027, with the usual relaxation for OBC, SC/ST and others.
Station Master isn't part of this notification. It has its own, CEN 08/2026, and that one is open until 25 November.
Goods Train Manager needs perfect eyesight
This matters because it's where most of the posts are. Goods Train Manager comes with medical standard A-2: 6/9 vision in each eye without glasses, plus colour, binocular and night vision tests. If you wear glasses or have had LASIK or any other eye surgery, you can't get this post. It's also not open to PwBD candidates at all.
If you fail the medical, RRB won't shift you to another post. So if your eyesight isn't good enough, think hard before you put Goods Train Manager first. The clerk-typist posts have a much easier standard, C-2, and the ticket supervisor post needs B-2. LASIK is allowed for these three under some conditions.
No typing test this time
RRB has dropped the typing test for both typist posts. It's just CBT 1, CBT 2, document verification and the medical. But your typing will still be checked after you join, and if it's weak, your confirmation or promotion can be held up.
Where the posts are
RRB Bilaspur has by far the most, 542, and almost all of them are Goods Train Manager posts for South East Central Railway. Ranchi has 377, Bengaluru 346, Kolkata 332, Ajmer 304 and Siliguri 291. At the small end, Ahmedabad has 19, Thiruvananthapuram 25 and Malda 26. Secunderabad has 56.
If you're after the ticket supervisor post, look at Prayagraj. It has 42 of the 127.
You can apply to one RRB only, and you can't change it later, not even in the correction window. Once you join, a transfer request to another railway won't be registered for 5 to 10 years. So go for the region you actually want to work in.
Fee and the rest of the dates
The fee is ₹500, and you get ₹400 back once you sit CBT 1. If you're a woman, SC/ST, ex-serviceman, PwBD, transgender, from a minority community or EBC, you pay ₹250 and get all of it back. You can pay until 8 November. The correction window is from 9 to 18 November, at ₹250 each time. CBT dates haven't been announced.
If you've only passed 12th, the NTPC Under Graduate notification is open until 13 November.
The RRB-wise vacancy table, syllabus and step-by-step application guide are on the recruitment page. Apply only through the official RRB website, and if anyone offers to get you a railway job for money, walk away.
